Have you noticed the vast amount of coverage on the TV lately about loneliness? So many folk, old and young in our communities are facing long days without conversation. We have a range of activities across the Circuit to which we could easily invite folk to just to ease that isolation. 
Why not offer to take a neighbour to something? (for lunches it might be wise to phone first – but I am sure you will be made very welcome!!)

Sat 19th
Coffee Morning at Pickering Methodist Church in aid of North Yorks Moors Railway appeal fund. Recently several coaches were vandalised at Pickering station. Many items like fittings in the  carriages that were destroyed, will not be able to be replaced. The appeal fund will be used to repair the carriages and build sheds to house them. Carriages have been used in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter plus the Flying Scotsman. Pickering Station with the steam trains is a major attraction for North Yorkshire.

9.00am until 5.00pm.
Bacon butty day at the home of Stephen and Karen, The Gatehouse, Newbridge Lane, Wilberfoss, York, YO41 5RB  Proceeds to Myasthenia Gravis Assoc, Anandashram hospice and home in India and York Against Cancer.  All are welcome.
                           

Sun 27th
5.00pm. Afternoon tea will be served from 4.00 pm. Join us to mark the inauguration of the new Yorkshire North & East District and to welcome Revd Leslie Newton as its Chair. Service led by the Secretary of the Conference, Revd Gareth Powell and Revd Loraine Mellor, President of the Conference, will preach. Ashville College, Green Lane, Harrogate, HG2 9JP .  All welcome, but helpful to know if you plan to attend. RSVP to admin@yorkshirenemethodist.org.

am - 1-30pm Sinnington Bacon Butties!  at the chapel. Bacon butties and more will be served. All donations for chapel funds. Come along and see what's on Brian's special menu! Everyone is very welcome

. ACTION FOR CHILDREN WALK - SLINGSBY JOIN US AND STEP OUT FOR CHILDREN Please join us at our walk around Slingsby in aid of  Action for Children, followed by Afternoon Tea.  meet at Slingsby  Methodist Church. The walk will last about 1hour 30 mins but a shorter walk will be available if  desired. Tickets £5 each, children free. To purchase tickets contact Geoff Bishop on 01653-628055  or Stephen Prest 628277 or from committee members or you can get them on the day. All are welcome.  (actionforchildren.org.uk)

10.30am.  Helmsley Chapel. Welcome Service for Revd Ken Gowland and Deacon Fiona DeBolz. The service will be taken by Revd. Leslie Newton the new chair of the Yorkshire North and East District. There will be no other morning services on that day.

. Pickering Methodist Church. Singing the Faith Circuit Event. An evening of Singing our Faith using this Methodist Hymn book published in 2011 we will learn some of the newer songs included in the book - as well as sing some of the more familiar ones.  Bring your voices  and instruments if you would like to be part of the accompaniment.

Tues 10th  7.00 p.m.      Rievaulx Harvest Thanksgiving Service led by John & Sheila Bainbridge from  Barningham, Richmond followed by refreshments and sale of produce.

Fri 24th - Sun 26th
Promising to be the biggest 3Generate yet, bookings have now opened for this year’s children and youth assembly of the Methodist Church, taking place at a new, bigger, venue, with up to 1,000 young people and leaders expected to attend. Following massive growth and growing demand for places in recent years, this year’s event will run from 24-26 November at Pontins, Southport, for children and young people aged 8-23. Full details are available on the website, www.methodist.org.uk/3generate Tickets for delegates are £110 including food, accommodation and activities.
