Sunday Service Times & Plan June/July/August (pdf doc)

Have you noticed the vast amount of coverage on the TV lately about loneliness? So many folk, old and young in our communities are facing long days without conversation. We have a range of activities across the Circuit to which we could easily invite folk to just to ease that isolation. 
Why not offer to take a neighbour to something? (for lunches it might be wise to phone first – but I am sure you will be made very welcome!!)

“SPACE FOR PEACE” Circuit Quiet Day at Sneaton Castle Whitby with Revd Ruth Parry 19th July 2017 from 9.30am to 4pm. £20 per person. Please book via Ann at admin@ryedalemethodist.org.uk by 18th June.











Tues  13th & 27th
10-11.30am Come and join us for Coffee, Chat and Crafts  Alternate Tuesdays   at Malton Baptist Church hall,  Wells Lane, next to Yates’  All Welcome.






Sat 24th & Sun 25th  Flower Festival at Slingsby Parish Church and Slingsby Methodist Church.   The churches are open from 10-30am to 4pm on each day, tickets are £3 and are available from the Parish Church. Refreshments are available at The Chapel on Saturday and in the Village Hall on Sunday.  There is also an Open Garden event on the Sunday, gardens open 1 – 5pm. The weekend will finish with a joint church/chapel service in the Parish Church on Sunday evening at 6-30pm the preacher is the Bishop of Selby.  

Sun 25th Revd. Tanya Short. As many of you will be aware: Tanya will be received into full connexion and  ordained
today in Solihill, as part of the 2017 Birmingham Conference. Whilst some are able to support her with their presence - others are not - but please do support her with your prayers. A pre-ordination retreat the week before is compulsory for all ordinands, so pray that this will be a special time or refreshment and blessing for her. On the Sunday the morning service when  ordinands are received into full connexion will be able to be viewed on-line at the time or after the event. The actual ordination will take place at 4pm. The opportunity to celebrate with Tanya on her return will be on Tuesday 4th July, 7.30pm at Norton Trinity. This will be a testimony service when Tanya will speak of her calling by God. The acting chair of district, Revd. Anne Brown, hopes to be present and our superintendent will preach.

Sun 25th 6.15pm Newton Choir Anniversary led by Mr Noel Smith Supper in Village Hall at close. All most welcome.

 7.00pm - 8.30pm. THY KINGDOM COME 2017. Three sessions on Christian Meditation & Prayer 
at the Millennium Room St Hilda’s Church, Main Road, Beadlam YO62 7ST

. As you know Revd. Tanya Short is due to be ordained in Solihull on 25th June. Many folk from the circuit will be unable to attend, but so that all the circuit can  celebrate with her, and pray for her, there will be a special service today. .00pm. Summer Concert by Terrington Choir.    Slingsby Methodist Church are celebrating their 180th Anniversary. This will be followed by refreshments.  All are welcome

Fri 28th to Sun 30th.
Allerston Churches Together Flower Festival, Children's Books in Bloom, Funds raised will be shared between Martin House Children's Hospice, Allerston Methodist Church and Allerston St John's  Church.

We will have a Sparkling Reception at St John's Church to open the event
on the evening of Friday 28th July at 6:30pm opened by The Venerable Richard Seed who is the Founder of Martin House Hospice which was founded in 1987.  We will then have a little musical entertainment and the church will be closed at 8pm.  Tickets for this event will be on
sale at £5 per adult.

Opening times are, Saturday 29th from 10am until 5pm and Sunday 30th
10am until 4pm.  Entry is by donation and there will be a printed programme.  Throughout the days there will be readings and musical events as published.  There will be Morning Coffee, biscuits and  cakes and afternoon tea with cream scones available at both venues.

A closing service will be held in the Methodist Chapel at 4:30pm on
Sunday 30th July and Rev Ruth Duck will officiate.

Fri 24th - Sun 26th
Promising to be the biggest 3Generate yet, bookings have now opened for this year’s children and youth assembly of the Methodist Church, taking place at a new, bigger, venue, with up to 1,000 young people and leaders expected to attend. Following massive growth and growing demand for places in recent years, this year’s event will run from 24-26 November at Pontins, Southport, for children and young people aged 8-23. Full details are available on the website, www.methodist.org.uk/3generate Tickets for delegates are £110 including food, accommodation and activities.
