Sunday Worship @ Slingsby Methodist

Join us on a Sunday Morning at 10:30am for our weekly act of worship.

Our services are led by our minister, or local preachers from the Ryedale Methodist circuit.  The service usually lasts around an hour, and includes the singing of hymns, readings from the bible, a reflection on the readings, and led prayers.  Once a month we also share in bread and wine (communion) to which everyone is welcome.

Following the service tea and coffee are served and we take the opportunity to catch up with one another.

Do check the worship plan, as occasionally we meet for United Services with the Parish Church, or our sister Church at Hovingham.

The District “Flourish” event is taking place again in February and tickets are now available – a weekend where we can join with a 1,000 Methodists across Yorkshire for a weekend of worship, learning, fellowship, and inspiration. Many went in 2019 and 2023, and it’s a great opportunity to be part of something bigger. This time easily accessible at a new venue, the University of York campus, out of the city centre – and perfect for all ages, with a diversity of worship, workshops and sessions. Including prayer spaces, arts & crafts, expert speakers, music concerts, comedy, conversation and marketplace. It would be great to see many from our church and circuit there! If you’ve not stumbled across ‘The Chosen’ – it is a Global Box Office Smash, that you may have never heard of.  It has grossed $140 million worldwide across 55 countries.  The Chosen:Last Supper – Part 1 was the highest-grossing installment of the series, earning $22 million.

What is it about – the life of Jesus, and his disciples, staying pretty close to the bible, but filling in the gaps with well researched storylines, beautifully told, funny, and emotional to watch.  Even if you arent into religious films you may be captivated by this
