Lent Courses Helmsley 2024 –
Sharing the Easter Story: From reading to living the gospel by Sally Welch
Please find below and attached details of the Lent groups running in Helmsley this year. Anyone is welcome and as there is a Zoom option on Monday evenings, it can be offered wider afield. If you would like further details, please let me know. Revd Mel.
This year there will be 4 opportunities each week to study together using material from one book, so if one date doesn’t suit your diary you can join with one of the other groups. The same material will be used but each session will be different in how that study is done.
We are using the BRF Lent book in which Sally Welch explores two questions: What is the Easter story really about, and how do we share it? Details can be found at https://www.brfonline.org.uk/products/sharing-the-easter-story. The book has also been distilled into a set of resources, called Journeymakers, that can be used to turn our reflections into a pilgrimage, both on foot and in our discussions.

Crafting the Cross. A Lent Course looking at the cross and what it means to us through crafts of various types.
We are open to anyone and hope that people will come along to explore the cross through simple arts and craft activities in the sacred spaces of different churches in the area. Each church will run their own session and share what the cross means to them – Karen Pattison
Taking place on Saturday mornings in Lent from 10.30 am until 12 noon.
The sessions would move round the churches as follows:
17th February – St.Andrew’s, Middleton,
24th February – Quakers,
2nd March – St.Joseph’s,
9th March – Parish Church,
16th March – Methodist Church,
